While I chat with the kids' teachers each day, they both had mini conferences this week as a mid summer check in.  I always knew Jake was a sweet boy get bing big hugs but they told me this week how he is the one that will comfort others in the classroom if they aren't happy by rubbing their head or patting their backs. It was so great to hear this and made my heart melt even more for this little guy.

Fun at the Summer Festival

Last month we visited the Minnetonka summer festival.  It was a beautiful evening and a smaller crowd, so it made it even better.  Tabitha participated in the kids race, and the whole family enjoyed the petting zoo, good music, and a whole lot of fun.

A boy and his kitty...

This little guy loves his friend, Fred.  And amazingly Fred loves him back (or at least tolerates it).  This is perhaps the reason why Jake thinks every animal sound is "meow".

A new room

A few years ago we changed up Tabitha's room.  We needed her jungle stuff so that the new baby's room was all ready.  We painted and got her new curtains as well as a canopy.  At that time we left her bed as a toddler bed...she was barely three so it seemed appropriate.

Recently we decided that it was time that we put together Tabitha's big girl bed.  Her crib was the convertible kind into a toddler bed and now a full size bed. We got her a new bedspread which she picked out and a few other small things.

As I woke her up this morning she looked so small in that bed but she will grow into it the same way she did her crib and her toddler bed....I guess it's no denying that I can't keep her little the rest of her life!
