Happy 9 month birthday Jake!

Likes:  food, toy tow truck, hitting his hand on his high chair. 

He now has two teeth.  No crawling yet.  Loves to babble and squeal!

I made it!  100 days of taking time to remember what brought me joy for that day.  Today's moment of joy is one of my favorites of the two kids.

It was a beautiful late August day...not too hot or humid.  We had a great dinner with my parents, and while the day was far from perfect we are ending it on a better note than what we began!

Jake got a new baby gift on Friday....it is a bit late but it is so beautiful, soft, and cozy.  The lovely lady that made it for Jake also made Tabs one too.  I took some pictures to share with her...

Today we braved the heat, humidity, and crowds and went to the great Monnesota get together.  The kids did great and we are already planning what we are going to do next year.

Daddy and big sister Tabitha are out camping tonight so it's just me, Fred and the Jake monster holding down the fort.  We had a blast playing in the cool basement this evening!

Today was Tabitha's annual check-up.  After being dragged to lots of Jake's appointments, she was more than excited this time to be the patient.  She did great and the doctor only had good things to say!

These two love being outside!  The other morning we rode our bikes and got pulled in the wagon for about 45 minutes straight.  We did it again tonight and likely would have been out there for that long if we hadn't had to eat dinner!

This morning we decided to head to Minneapolis with our bikes.  We spent awhile biking around Lake Harriet, having a picnic lunch, walking while Tabs ride her bike, and walking around the Rose gardens and Japanese gardens.  We made it back to the car as it started to rain, but instead of heading straight home we decided to stop for Sebastian Joes ice cream.  Our walk back to the car resulted in four wet bodies but we all had a very fun day!

Excited to ride in the Burley...it was our first time with it hooked up to the bike.  Yes, and that is Hake wearing a pink helmet...in our family fashion does not matter so long as our heads are protected!

While we had a good time in Bemidji, it is nice to be home again and in our normal (albeit sometimes boring) routine.  Thanks to mom/grandma for coming along and watching the kids!  They had a great time with you and I very much appreciate your help!!!

Over the past day, I've gotten to share with my kids one of my favorite places.  They've gotten a glimpse of the town and so we will explore more next time we are up...until then Tabitha's pretty sure Paul and Babe will stay where they are at.

Throwback Thursday...I've had this bag for 26 years.  It's in nearly as good of condition as the day got it.  Instead of gymnastics apparel it now has the kids' swimming suits and towels.  (Note: That's Jake's foot as we watched Tabithas swim lessons)

Yay for everyone being healthy again!!  The doctor's office will stop giving us a hard time now (that is until Tabitha's annual appointment next week!)

I had two helpers while I voted today.  It was fun having Tabitha learn about the process.  She even helped me feed my envelope into the tabulator!

Ahhhh...Prince Jake just woke from a 3 hour nap and I just woke from a nice 30 minute power nap snuggled up with Queen Elsa and the royal cat, Fred.  What a nice start to my afternoon!

Ahhh...I love the milestones of the little ones.  Jake got his first tooth last week.  Today was the first day I was able to even capture a picture of it though.  He hasn't really tried it out too much yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

It's quiet in the house tonight. Tabs is off with grandma and grandpa on a train ride so it's just us with Jake.  We enjoyed a quiet meal out that didn't revolve around talking about princesses or coloring. Jake was content in his high chair watching others and playing with his toys.

I'm glad today is done...it's been one of those days and we can all relate.  Here's to hoping tomorrow is better.

Tonight some of the new neighbors on the block invited us down as part of National Night Out.  It was nice meeting new people and meeting the neighbors we haven't really met in 7 years of living here.  Hopefully we will see more of everyone!

There's too much to write about what this little girl means to me.  She is spunky, silly, and smart.  She's always there to give hugs and adores life.  Tabitha has taught me that there's more to life than work, a perfect yard, a neat house, and myself.  Happy golden birthday to my not so little princess!  How time flies!

Today we celebrated the roo's birthday with a Frozen themed party.  It was the perfect day for swimming, going on a Sven hunt, and eating blue cupcakes.  A great time was had by all!

A fun day today!  A date this morning with my hubby running the Minnesota half marathon, seeing that Jake has his first tooth, watching Tabitha have fun with my parents, seeing Jake wave bye bye, and finally getting ready for Tabs birthday party!  I think we will all sleep well tonight!

It's been a beautiful summer, so far and we've enjoyed watching the kids play outside.  These pictures are from a few weeks ago on a cooler day...but no less fun!
